GEORGE TOWN, April 6 (Bernama) -- Taiwanese electronics giant Advantech Co Ltd has signed three strategic memoranda of understanding (MoU) at the Advantech ASEAN Connect Conference 2026.
The agreements were signed with Malaysia’s Open RE Sdn Bhd, Thailand’s Get On Technology Co Ltd and a consortium comprising Qonnect (BIIC Co Ltd) and Australia’s Pacific Automation Pty Ltd.
Advantech automation sector vice president Chingpo Lin said the collaboration reflects a shift from purely developing technology to implementing practical, scalable and market-ready solutions.
“This MoU reflects our strategic direction to work more closely with industry partners in developing standardised solutions that help industries leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to generate tangible operational value,” he said in a statement.
The partnership with Open RE will drive the development and rollout of a Battery Energy Storage System Total Solution in Malaysia.
By combining Advantech’s Edge AI and IoT platforms with Open RE’s energy optimisation software, the collaboration is expected to enhance battery monitoring, lifecycle management and cost efficiency for industrial users, while supporting national renewable energy goals.
Advantech’s MoU with Get On Technology will focus on deploying industrial cellular router solutions and promoting CNC-related applications. The collaboration includes joint sales initiatives, workshops and proof-of-concept deployments, to accelerate digitalisation and enable scalable smart manufacturing practices across the country.
The MoU, involving Qonnect and Pacific Automation, targets the expansion of AI-driven predictive maintenance solutions across ASEAN and Australia.
By integrating hardware, software and engineering capabilities, the partnership aims to improve equipment monitoring, reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency for industrial players.
With these partnerships, Advantech is sharpening its focus on translating industrial intelligence into tangible business outcomes, helping enterprises move from pilot projects to scalable, real-world implementation across ASEAN.
The APC 2026, held over two days from April 2 to 3 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, brought together industry executives, end-users and government agencies to explore opportunities in Edge AI and Industrial IoT.
