Gaza Media Office Denies Board Of Peace Envoy’s Claim That 602 Aid Trucks Entered Enclave

ISTANBUL, April 10 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Gaza’s government media office on Friday denied a claim by Board of Peace envoy Nicolay Mladenov that 602 aid trucks entered the enclave a day earlier, saying only 207 trucks crossed into Gaza, including 79 carrying humanitarian assistance, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s high representative for Gaza, said Thursday on X that “602 trucks entered Gaza today with essential supplies for families who have waited too long.”

“This is what scaled access looks like, and it must become the daily baseline, not the exception,” he added.

In response, the Gaza media office said in a statement that Mladenov’s figures were “false, inaccurate and lacked credibility.”

“The actual figures for April 9 confirm that only 207 trucks entered the Gaza Strip, including 79 aid trucks,” it said, noting that the remaining trucks carried commercial goods for private companies.

The office said the number of trucks entering the enclave “does not meet the level of humanitarian response required and in no way reflects the kind of scaled access claimed by Mladenov.”

It added that Israel’s implementation of the humanitarian protocol under the ceasefire agreement has not exceeded 38 per cent of what was agreed.

“Distorting the facts cannot conceal the scale of the catastrophe, nor does it absolve any party of its legal and humanitarian responsibilities,” the statement said, urging international intervention to save civilians in the enclave.

According to the Gaza media office, the humanitarian protocol of the ceasefire agreement signed in October stipulates the entry of 600 aid trucks into the enclave each day, including 50 fuel trucks, but Israel’s compliance has not exceeded 38 per cent.

Israeli forces have carried out daily violations of a ceasefire in place since Oct 10, 2025, which have killed 736 people and wounded 2,035 as of March 18, according to Palestine Health Ministry data.

Israel launched a war on Gaza in October 2023, killing more than 72,000 Palestinians, wounding around 172,000, and devastating about 90 per cent of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
