DAMASCUS, April 12 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Several Syrian civilians were injured Saturday after a hand grenade exploded in a neighbourhood in Aleppo province in northern Syria, Anadolu Ajansi reported, citing local broadcaster.
Syria AlIkhbaria TV reported that “a number of civilians were injured after a person threw a hand grenade into a vegetable market in the Al-Sukkari neighbourhood of Aleppo city.”
No immediate information was available about the fate of the perpetrator or the motive behind the attack.
Authorities have repeatedly announced the arrest of individuals in several provinces on suspicion of armed activity, incitement and affiliation with the ousted Assad regime.
The new Syrian administration is making intensive efforts to restore security and assert control as part of its plans to recover from the repercussions of the devastating civil war, rebuild the country and achieve stability and development.
