IPOH, April 18 (Bernama) -- A total of RM7.16 million has been allocated for educational development in the Tambun parliamentary constituency over the past three years, covering financial aid, digital facilities and school infrastructure projects.
Special Officer to the Tambun MP, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, said the allocation comes from Parliament and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's initiatives to strengthen access to education and learning facilities in the area.
"Some aid is given in cash, some through development projects. Most schools in Tambun have received smartboards for modern learning, and we have reached nearly all schools here.
"We've also helped with student waiting areas, classrooms and sports facilities through smaller allocations of under RM200,000," he said at the MADANI Tambun parliamentary Education Aid Programme 2026 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ulu Kinta today.
He said 500 students received RM100 each and school bags through Yayasan Pelajaran MARA, part of ongoing efforts to help students from needy families.
"Every year, we focus on channelling large allocations to education in Tambun because the MP (Prime Minister) is very focused on this issue. We have also discussed with the District Education Office to identify key needs," he said.
Mohamad Hairul Amir added that 3,000 students in the constituency also received RM100 school vouchers for the upcoming school session.
