Melaka Govt Resolves 606 State Land Applications -- CM

ALOR GAJAH, April 22 (Bernama) -- The Melaka government has resolved 606 State Land (PTK) applications over the past three years, with 90 recipients in the Machap Jaya state constituency (DUN), which is under the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency, receiving Notice 5A for land ownership today.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the handover effectively resolved long-standing land ownership issues of up to 30 years in the area through the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme, which was systematically implemented to expedite the resolution of public issues.

“Through the WRUR programme, we are able to resolve the matter within two weeks. Today, we handed over Notice 5A to 90 PTK recipients,” he told reporters after the handover ceremony of PTK Approval Letters in conjunction with the WRUR programme for Machap Jaya at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lesong Batu here.

He said that of the 606 approved PTKs, 322 involved the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency and the state government is offering a five per cent discount to Notice 5A recipients who make full payment within three months from April 1, without any application for extension or appeal for a reduction in premium payments.

According to him, the resolution of the land issue demonstrates the efficiency of the state administration in addressing long-standing problems, in line with the Melaka Sayang Rakyat concept that prioritises the people’s welfare.

Meanwhile, a recipient, Diana Mamat, 45, said the approval of the PTK application ended her wait of more than four years to own land.

“I have waited for more than four years for this application to be approved and today I am very grateful that everything has been settled. God willing, I plan to build a comfortable house for my family,” she said.

Another recipient, Mastura Hairudin, said her dream of farming on her own land has finally come true after waiting for nearly five years.

“I was motivated to apply after hearing about it (PTK) a few years ago and eventually my application was approved. I hope my plan to farm will become a reality,” she added.
