PUTRAJAYA, April 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tonight attended the ‘Winds of Glory: AM:PM Amir Masdi dan SP Winds in Concert’ at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here.
Anwar, who arrived at about 8 pm accompanied by Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim, was welcomed by more than 500 guests at the Plenary Hall.
The Education Ministry previously said the concert served as a platform to expose SPWinds to professional music standards and formed part of preparations for the World Music Contest 2026 in the Netherlands this July.
Organised by the SPWinds Parents Support Group under the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, the charity concert also aimed to raise funds for the orchestra’s overseas programme.
The concert also reflected strong support from parents and the community in nurturing students’ talents, while ensuring the sustainability of the school orchestra as a platform for musical excellence.
SPWinds brought honour to Malaysia after winning a Gold Award at the 11th World Orchestra Festival in Vienna, Austria, from July 23 to 26 last year.
Sekolah Seri Puteri said Amir’s involvement strengthened the school’s artistic vision and reflected its commitment to using music as a high-impact educational platform centred on student excellence.
