ALOR SETAR, April 28 (Bernama) -- A man suspected of beating up his wife until she miscarried last Thursday has been arrested by the police.
Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah said the 43-year-old suspect was arrested here today.
"The suspect has just been arrested and will be brought to the Sungai Petani Court tomorrow to obtain a remand period. The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code.
"A press conference regarding the suspect's arrest will be held tomorrow at the Kedah police contingent headquarters (IPK)," he said to the media here today.
Earlier, it went viral on social media that a 39-year-old civil servant was injured, allegedly beaten up by her husband until she miscarried. The 43-year-old suspect is said to be the same man involved in a previous case in Johor, in which his wife, namely Jahidah Nordin, was beaten up and who landed in a coma.
