ISKANDAR PUTERI, April 30 (Bernama) -- The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, today reminded state assemblymen to carry out their duties responsibly, uphold the trust placed in them by the people and ensure that “Johor remains Johor.”
His Royal Highness urged all assemblymen to remain focused on their responsibilities so that every policy and decision delivers a meaningful impact to the people.
“Our responsibility is not merely to attend, but to ensure that every policy and decision benefits the people.
“Maintain decorum, engage in mature deliberations and uphold the spirit of service. Insya-Allah, with continued effort, Johor will remain progressive, respected and admired,” His Royal Highness said at the opening of the fifth session of the 15th Johor State Legislative Assembly here.
Tunku Mahkota Ismail also reminded assemblymen that the Johor State Legislative Assembly is a noble institution that serves as a platform to formulate policies, seek solutions and champion the welfare of the people.
“The people are watching and evaluating. Therefore, continue the good work that has been done, improve where necessary and ensure that every action truly benefits Bangsa Johor,” His Royal Highness said.
Earlier, Tunku Mahkota Ismail expressed appreciation for the orderly, respectful and well-conducted assembly sitting, describing it as a reflection of democratic maturity and the evolving political culture in the state.
His Royal Highness also called on all parties to pray for Johor’s continued progress, peace and prosperity, and for the state to be safeguarded from any calamities and blessed with continued well-being.
“I want all Johoreans to live in harmony, unity and happiness,” Tunku Mahkota Ismail said.
