KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has contributed RM100,000 to the Alam Shah Wind Orchestra (ASWO) to support its preparations for the World Music Contest 2026 in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, on July 30.
He said the contribution is intended to help ease preparation and travel costs for 46 students from Form Two to Form 4 of Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah, Putrajaya, who will represent Malaysia at the international competition.
“The ability of these students to step forward and showcase their talent on the world stage reflects the strength of our nation. It is not measured solely by numbers and physical development, but also by our capacity to build confidence, maturity and identity among our youth.
“May this effort continue to inspire them to achieve success,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the contribution was presented during his visit to the school this afternoon to review its infrastructure and meet members of the ASWO team.
He also expressed hope that the team would succeed and make Malaysia proud on the international stage.
