Op Syahbandar: LHDN Mobilises 2,195 Officers Nationwide For Compliance Checks

MELAKA, May 4 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has mobilised 2,195 officers nationwide to carry out compliance checks involving 1,300 identified cases under ‘Op Syahbandar’, a five-day operation beginning today.

In a statement, IRB said the national-level Tax Compliance Operation 2026 aims to strengthen tax compliance and curb revenue leakages.

“Melaka IRB is hosting the launch of the integrated operation, which focuses on audit activities involving corporate tax, non-corporate tax and employer-related taxes.

“In line with developments in the digital economy and the current business landscape, the manufacturing sector has been identified as the main focus of ‘Op Syahbandar’ this year,” the statement said.

According to IRB, among taxpayers targeted in the operation are companies reporting income below industry margins, companies that have never been audited, those identified as having risks in tax incentive claims, and companies involved in transfer pricing transactions with related parties abroad.

The launch of the operation and flag-off ceremony, held at Menara LHDN Melaka, was officiated by IRB deputy chief executive officer (Compliance) Shaharrudy Othman and attended by Melaka IRB director Datuk Mohd Shahriz Ramli.

In the same statement, Shaharrudy, while speaking at the launch, said the operation reflects IRB’s continued commitment to ensuring that all taxpayers fulfil their tax obligations fairly and equitably.

“IRB will continue to strengthen compliance efforts strategically to ensure sustainable national revenue collection, while curbing leakages in the interest of the country.

“As such, the implementation of ‘Op Syahbandar’ is expected to deliver a positive impact through our integrated approach in enhancing more effective compliance measures,” he said.
