KUANTAN, May 19 (Bernama) -- The Pahang State Secretary’s Office is strengthening the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in information dissemination through an AI for Digital Content Production course involving 35 officers from various state agencies.

State Strategic Communication director Khairul Anwar Ahmad Nadzer said participants included officers from the Strategic Communication Unit, government departments, local authorities, government-linked companies, the Islamic Religious Council and representatives of state assemblymen.

He said the programme aimed to ensure government communication officers remain abreast of technological developments, particularly in AI.

“Some participants are already skilled in design, graphics and video production, but AI can further enhance their efficiency and productivity,” he told Bernama here today.

The course was conducted in collaboration with the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), which has expertise in producing media content aligned with government communication guidelines.

Khairul Anwar said the programme not only introduced AI applications, but also guided participants on delivering information more effectively to target audiences.

Meanwhile, Bernama news officer Syed Iylia Hariz Al-Qadri Syed Izman said the course provided practical exposure to AI tools to enhance and speed up digital content production.

“Participants also received hands-on training in AI applications for social media content, writing, graphics, short videos and digital government communication.

“They were not only exposed to theory, but also given practical training to help produce content that is more engaging, timely and relevant to modern audiences,” he said.

Among the applications introduced were ChatGPT for writing and content development, Canva for graphics and poster design, and Gemini for information searches and creative idea generation.

Syed Iylia Hariz said the two-day programme aimed to help participants view AI as a tool to improve productivity and strengthen the quality of information delivery, while building confidence in applying it in daily tasks.
