KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on all Muslims to make the most of the Day of Arafah tomorrow by increasing prayers and acts of worship to seek forgiveness and mercy from Allah SWT.
“The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that the best du’a (supplication) is the du’a made on the Day of Arafah.
“Let us increase our du’a, zikr (remembrance of Allah), istigfar (seeking forgiveness of Allah) and acts of worship in the hope that Allah SWT will forgive our sins and grant us peace and mercy in our lives,” he said in a post on X today.
Ahmad Zahid also prayed for pilgrims currently in the Holy Land, asking that their acts of worship be made easy and that they be granted a mabrur haj (accepted pilgrimage by God).
For those returning to their hometowns for Aidiladha, he made du’a for their safe travels and for them to be protected by Allah SWT.
“May it serve as a reminder for us to keep improving ourselves and to strengthen our relationships with one another with sincerity and compassion. Insya-Allah,” he said.
The Day of Arafah, which falls on the 9th of Zulhijjah each year, is important in Islam as it marks the peak phase of the haj pilgrimage, when millions of pilgrims from around the world gather at the plain of Arafah to perform wukuf.
