KUANTAN, May 29 (Bernama) -- The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, has called on Muslims to strengthen ties, increase acts of worship and embrace the spirit of sacrifice for religion, race and country throughout the month of Zulhijjah.
His Highness said Zulhijah is the best time for Muslims to increase prayers, ‘zikir’ (remembrance) and charitable deeds.
“We should increase charitable acts and refrain from all forms of excessive entertainment, parties, distracting events and matters that could tarnish the sanctity of the month,” according to a post uploaded on the Pahang Sultanate’s Facebook page today.
Tengku Hassanal also called on Muslims to strengthen the spirit of sacrifice, particularly in easing disputes and misunderstandings among Muslims, especially within the Malay community, as expressed by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, in their recent Aidiladha messages.
“At the same time, unity and harmony among the various races in this country must continue to be preserved because the strength of a nation lies in mutual respect, understanding and unity among all races and levels of society,” His Highness said.
The post also said that Tengku Hassanal consented to perform Friday prayers at the Tunku Azizah Iskandar Mosque in Kampung Baru, Bentong.
