BERA, June 10 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government has agreed to extend the Makmur Pahang SPM Reference and Exercise Book Initiative to Form Four students beginning next year.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the state government had received an application from the Pahang State Education Department (JPN), although more detailed information was still required before any decision on approval could be made.
“The initial focus will be on core subjects first,” he told reporters after launching the 2026 Makmur Pahang Reference and Exercise Book Initiative for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Felda Purun here today.
Wan Rosdy said the state government had also added reference and exercise books for two key subjects, namely Additional Mathematics and Science, this year, bringing the total number of modules provided to SPM candidates throughout Pahang to six.
Last year, the initiative covered four core subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, History and Mathematics.
He said the state government would continue to support all efforts aimed at improving education among students in the state.
“We want them to become a generation with strong moral values, good manners, courtesy and integrity,” he said.
