WASHINGTON, June 15 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Up to seven million foreign visitors are expected to arrive in the United States (US) for the FIFA World Cup, US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin said on Sunday, according to a CNN report cited by Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"We have five to seven million visitors," Mullin told CNN.
The department does not currently see any specific security threats, he said.
"Are we safe? Yes, we're going to have a safe and one of the best World Cups in the history of this event," Mullin said.
The World Cup is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The tournament features 48 teams for the first time.
