TAMPIN, June 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has implemented 15,150 Program Jualan Rahmah MADANI (PJRM) nationwide in the first six months of this year, with sales value exceeding RM675 million.

Its deputy minister, Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh, said the programme benefitted nearly 19 million users through savings offers of up to 30 per cent.

"The enthusiastic response to the programme proves that the PJRM is no longer just a price intervention initiative, but has become the people's primary choice for obtaining daily necessities at lower prices.

"The feedback received has also been very positive, with many users hoping that this programme will be expanded in terms of the frequency of events, the number of locations, and the variety of goods offered," she said to reporters after officiating the Mini KPDN Carnival at Tampin Square here today.

She said in Negeri Sembilan, 2.24 million users benefitted from 848 PJRM covering urban areas, rural areas, FELDA areas, Orang Asli villages, higher education institutions, public markets, and retail premises during the same period.

Fuziah also aims for at least 1,300 PJRM events throughout this year in the state as a commitment to ensure more people have access to basic necessities at affordable prices.

In the meantime, she said the KPDN Mini Carnival features a one-stop centre concept that allows the public to access various government services in one location, including local authorities, land offices, zakat centre and licence renewals.

He said the approach makes it easier for the people to settle various matters in one visit, thus saving time and costs.

At the programme, a total of 40 Ihsan Food Bank (i-FB) baskets were also donated to those in need, aimed at helping to alleviate the burden of living costs while reducing food waste through the cooperation of various agencies, non-governmental organisations and industry players.

In a separate development, Fuziah also said that to further strengthen the people's welfare agenda, KPDN is still continuing the implementation of the RAHMAH Menu involving 3,278 traders nationwide to date.

She added that the initiative demonstrates that close cooperation between the government and the private sector can produce solutions that directly benefit the people without compromising business continuity.
