KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- All proposed participations in the national export promotion programme for 2026 have been reviewed to ensure that government allocations are optimised for high-impact, result-oriented programmes with stronger market potential.

Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the decision was agreed at the Export Coordination Committee (JK-X) Meeting No. 2 of 2026, which he chaired today, to review the direction of the national export promotion programme.

He said the review was aimed at ensuring that each participation by ministries and agencies truly adds value to the national economy.

“The country's exports cannot move routinely when the global trade landscape is changing so rapidly,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Shamsul Azri said the government would continue to strengthen the whole-of-government approach to ensure that the country's export ecosystem remains agile, competitive and able to seize new opportunities despite the increasingly dynamic challenges of global trade.
