CAMBODIA

 

1.ANGKOR WAT EARNS RM75 MILLION FROM TICKET SALES -- FRESH NEWS 

The Angkor Archaeological Park earned more than US$18.4 million (RM75 million) from ticket sales to international visitors during the first half of the year. About 388,00 foreign tourists visited the ancient site.

 

2.US-CAMBODIA SIGN AVIATION PACT -- FRESH NEWS

The United States and Cambodia signed the Open Skies Air Transport Agreement to strengthen bilateral aviation ties. This is the first such agreement between the countries.

 

INDONESIA 

 

1.INDONESIA TO START E-COMMERCE INCOME TAX COLLECTION ON AUG 1 -- ANTARA

Indonesia will begin collecting income tax through designated e-commerce platforms from August 1, 2026, the Finance Ministry's Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) said on Wednesday.

 

2.INDONESIA EYES GROWING GLOBAL MUSLIM TRAVEL MARKET BY 2030 -- ANTARA

Indonesia is stepping up efforts to capture a larger share of the global Muslim travel market, which is projected to reach 262 million trips by 2030, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The Agriculture and Environment Ministry will release 72 million fish fingerlings into rivers, lakes and wetlands on July 13. It is to mark this year’s National Fish Releasing and Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Day.

 

2.INDIAN SUPPORT TO PROTECT MEKONG ECOLOGY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

The Indian government and the Mekong River Commission on Tuesday agreed to strengthen water security and climate resilience initiatives. This comes at a time when the Mekong region faces growing flood, drought and climate risks.

Fruit and vegetable export turnover reached US$4 billion (RM16 billion) in the first six months of this year. Durians, coconuts and lychees were key exports.

 

2.WIND POWER PLANT CONSTRUCTION TAKES OFF -- VIETNAMPLUS

Construction of the US$240 million (RM983 million) wind power plant in Ca Mau in Southern Vietnam with a designed capacity of 100 MW has begun. The commercial operation is expected to begin in May 2028.
