DON'T BE LULLED BY FOUR-GOAL CUSHION - STEINBRUCKNER

KUALA NERUS, July 5 (Bernama) -- The four-goal advantage that Terengganu FC (TFC) carry into the FA Cup second-leg match is not a guarantee for the Turtles squad to qualify for the semi-finals, said head coach Tomislav Steinbruckner.

He reminded his players to stay focused and not underestimate the threat posed by Sabah FC in the match at Likas Stadium tomorrow night.

Steinbruckner said the team coached by Datuk Ong Kim Swee will undoubtedly pressure them and fight hard to ensure TFC are eliminated and left disappointed.

Therefore, the Turtles need to be more cautious and prepared for any possibilities or surprises that the Rhinos, who boast many national players, might present.

"We still have 90 minutes to win. We expect more pressure from Sabah from the first minute because they need more goals. 

"So I expect from my players good energy and courage to get a good result like the first match. Playing defence is not a good idea,” he said when contacted today.

Steinbruckner said they will try to take possession because a defensive game will put them under pressure and create more problems.

TFC bring a comfortable lead to the Land Below the Wind after defeating Sabah 4-0 in the first leg of the FA Cup quarter-finals at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium on June 28.

Meanwhile, Turtles midfielder Manuel Ott said he will work hard to ensure TFC advance to the semi-finals and subsequently to the FA Cup final.

He said he is determined to redeem the disappointment of fans in 2022 when the Turtles lost to Johor Darul Ta'zim in the final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
