ALOR SETAR, July 14 (Bernama) -- Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC owner Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar has promised that the Canaries will give Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) a tough fight in the FA Cup semi-final, first-leg tie at the Darul Aman Stadium on Friday (July 19).

He said KDA FC head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain also has a plan in place and has drawn up a strategy that should give them the edge over the Southern Tigers.

"What's definite is that we want to give them a tough fight, produce an exciting performance and, God-willing, we will get an unexpected result because we will be up against a very strong side.

"The coach has told us about the plans and strategies he has come up with for the game against JDT. Hopefully, the plans will work,” he told reporters after launching the KenariCare Membership Card here today.

Also present were ECG Capital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Asward Mahadzir and KDA FC acting chief executive officer Shahrul Samsudin.

Mohd Daud hopes the players will work hard in training and during the game to create an upset against the giants of Malaysian football.

"Hope the coach and the players will do their best and showcase their skills and abilities, be confident and have no fear. It's normal that we must fight to the finish in a football game and the most important thing is we must produce a solid team performance,” he said, adding that he hopes the fans will come out in force to support the team.

On the KenariCare Membership Card launch, Mohd Daud said KDA FC has forged a collaboration with ECG Capital Sdn Bhd to offer the team's supporters special benefits.

He said the membership, starting from as low as RM35 a month, offers takaful life protection benefits of up to RM100,000, discounts on purchases at over 30 selected business chains, purchase discounts on official KDA FC merchandise and priority in purchasing tickets for home matches.

"KDA FC aims to get at least 100,000 members by December, whereby part of the monthly membership fees will be used to fund the team's operational expenses in the future,” he said.

Asward, meanwhile, said they are proud to forge a collaboration with KDA FC in managing the KenariCare programme, which is being held for the first time among football teams in the country.

"ECG Capital will assist KDA FC achieve their target of 100,000 memberships. At the same time, we will ensure the KenariCare membership benefits will be added to provide value to subscribing members,” he said.
