KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama) -- The national women's hockey squad suffered another disappointment, losing 0-5 to China in their second match of the 2024 Women's Asian Champions Trophy (ACT) Hockey campaign at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar, India today.

China, who started the action on an aggressive note, quickly made a break through against the national squad nicknamed the Malaysian Tigress in the 12th minute through a field goal by Yu Anhui.

Continuing their onslaught in the third quarter, the Chinese squad doubled the lead after taking advantage of a penalty corner strike through Tan Jinzhuang in the 41st minute, before Wang Lihang smashed in another goal to put the opposition in a comfortable position eight minutes later.

As if that wasn't enough, China continued to add to the misery of the national squad under the guidance of Mohamed Nasihin Nubil Ibrahim with the fourth and fifth goals through Tan Jinzhuang and Hao Guoting in the 55th and 57th minutes respectively and the result remained until the final whistle.

Yesterday, the Malaysian Tigress opened their campaign in the championship on the wrong foot, losing 0-4 to hosts, India and on Thursday will face another uphill task after drawing three-time winners South Korea before facing Japan on Saturday and Thailand on Sunday.
