16/01/2025 04:38 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- National women’s football team goalkeeper Nurul Azurin Mazlan, who took a major step in pursuing her career at the international stage by joining FKK Vilaznia that competes in the Albanian League, departed to the country last night.

The development was shared by the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) through a post on its official Facebook page which met the former Sabah FA club player at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) before departing for Tirana, Albania.

She was represented by PFAM Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail as well as several family members and friends who were present to give her moral support before heading to the discharge gate.

Previously, the 24-year-old player had helped Sabah FA become the runners-up in the 2024 National Women's League (LWN) and advance to the AFC Women's Champions League (AWCL).

Playing abroad is nothing new for Nurul since she has played for India-based Misaka United FC and ShF Presingu in Kosovo previously.

This achievement has become the pride of Malaysians, thus proving the ability of the country's women's football players to compete at the international level.
