KOTA KINABALU, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Sabah FC are not underestimating Sri Pahang FC and will go all out to secure victory in the first leg of the Unifi Malaysia Cup semi-finals this Saturday (Jan 18).
Sabah FC head coach Martin Stano said he was hopeful that the home ground advantage at Stadium Likas here would help realise their goal.
“Sabah FC’s new mission following the defeat to Johor Darul Ta’zim (in the Super League) on Jan 11 is to gain a goal advantage against Sri Pahang as a cushion for the second leg later.
“We will give 150 per cent commitment against Tok Gajah led by Fandi Ahmad to increase our chances of reaching the final. We respect Sri Pahang’s status and do not underestimate their capabilities,” he said in a statement today.
He also expressed hope that Sabah FC supporters would turn up to provide encouragement to the team.
Commenting on the status of Sabah FC players for the match, Stano said several players are were still on the injury list following the match against the Southern Tigers.
“However, this is not a major issue as we still have time to finalise the list of players who will take the field,” he added.
