KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC majority shareholder Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar has denied claims that the football club will withdraw from the Malaysian Super League next season.
He made the denial at an event announcing BeOne Network as the club’s strategic partner and three club ambassadors - singer Hanifah Muhammad Hanafiah, popularly known as Black, and digital media celebrities Muhd Iqbal Mohd Nor (CEO Batu) and Mohd Irshad Shafiq Mohd Tahir (CEO Biezy) - here today.
He also shared that a foreign company had promised sponsorship based on the number of fans the KDA FC had.
“An international company placed a Key Performance Index to see that KDA FC had about 15,000 to 20,000 (registered) members.
So, if we can achieve that, the company agrees to help us soon,” he said, adding that the number of registered club fans were currently at 10,000.
He also expressed hope that the new club ambassadors would help in the promotion of club products on a wider scale and in boosting club membership.
Widespread rumours have surrounded KDA FC regarding its possible withdrawal from the Super League due to the club’s financial crisis.
