NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s star para-athlete Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli continued his dominance in the men’s shot put F20 event by clinching the gold medal at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games (APG) in Thailand, today.
Muhammad Ziyad produced a winning throw of 16.81 metres (m), comfortably ahead of his competitors, although he fell short of surpassing his own APG record of 16.92m set in Solo 2022.
His Asian record of 17.43m achieved in Japan in 2024 remains unbeaten, but today’s performance was more than enough to secure the top spot on the podium.
Fellow Malaysian Mohamad Aliff Mohamad Awi took silver with a throw of 13.80m, while Thailand’s Boonkong Sanepoot claimed bronze with 13.68m.
