KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- Professional women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei ended an eight-year title drought when she emerged victorious in the Singapore International Challenge today.
The third-seeded Jin Wei lived up to expectations as she took 30 minutes to beat unseeded Indonesian Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi 21-11, 21-11 at the Singapore Badminton Hall East Coast @ Expo.
This is the world number 55's first Badminton World Federation (BWF) title since capturing the Orleans International crown in France in 2016.
The 26-year-old Jin Wei had previously also won the women’s singles gold at the 2017 SEA Games here, the gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires and two World Junior Championships titles in 2015 and 2018.
