KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 (Bernama) — The efforts and initiatives of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) in strengthening the Olympic Movement in this country will continue in line with the strategic cooperation framework with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) which was the focus of discussions between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and an OCA delegation, today.
Anwar said the matter was discussed when he received a courtesy call from the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and OCA President Prince Sheikh Joaan Hamad Al Thani, and his delegation and OCM representatives in a fruitful meeting.
He said in the context of long-term planning, the meeting also touched on the organisation of Beach Games, Youth Games and Asian Games for 2029.
"God willing, all preparations and directions will be drawn up collectively with member countries under the auspices of OCA to ensure that the organisation of this prestigious sports event can be successfully implemented by the host countries," he said in a post on his Facebook page today.
