KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysian driver Naquib Azlan, representing Porsche Malaysia, is aiming for a positive finish in Rounds Five and Six of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) at Fuji International Speedway, Japan this weekend.
He related that his transition from simulation racing to driving a real Porsche machine on track has been positive so far, having collected 32.5 points to sit sixth out of 28 drivers in the race standings in his debut season driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
“Fuji is a very interesting circuit. I think I like racing in Japan. The layout of the circuit is interesting and not easy.
“But I’ve done a lot of training in the simulator. So it’s just a positive feeling and I consider every race week as a learning step,” he said when met at the ceremony announcing a collaboration between AFFIN Group and Porsche Malaysia here today.
The 25-year-old driver also pledged to deliver his best performance to bring pride to Malaysia in the 2026 PCCA season, with nine rounds remaining.
“I think it’s as expected, because even before I joined the PCCA, we already knew the level was very high. But compared to the level I was used to racing in Malaysia, the jump is quite significant.
“We knew it would be challenging, but we’re focusing on ourselves and making sure we deliver the best performance we possibly can,” he added.
