30/05/2026 04:25 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- National mixed doubles shuttler Toh Ee Wei is expected to undergo an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan on Monday after sustaining a left knee injury during the Singapore Open quarter-final yesterday.

The latest development was confirmed by national doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky, saying that the extent of Ee Wei’s injury was still unclear.

“Based on the (medical) report, she (physiotherapist) cannot tell the situation yet until the doctor does the MRI on Monday,” he told Bernama.

Yesterday, Ee Wei and her partner Chen Tang Jie were unable to complete their Singapore Open quarter-final clash after the former picked up an injury during the match.

The reigning world champions were ahead 18-16 against India’s world No. 28 pair Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto, before retiring after 24 minutes of action.
