BEIJING, June 25 (Bernama-dpa) -- Chinese lunar probe Chang'e-6 has returned to Earth with the first rock samples taken from the far side of the moon, live images from Chinese state television show, reported German news agency (dpa).
The capsule touched down on the steppes of China's northern autonomous region of Inner Mongolia on Tuesday afternoon.
The mission is considered a milestone for the country's ambitious space programme as it marks the first time that soil and rock samples from the far side of the moon are brought back to Earth.
