JEDDAH, July 10 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman who is also Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet session held in Jeddah on Tuesday.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the cabinet reviewed recent discussions and meetings with various countries and organisations, focusing on strengthening friendship ties, enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and promoting international security, stability, development, progress, and cultural advancement in all fields.

The cabinet followed up on the latest events and developments regionally and internationally, reiterating what the Kingdom has confirmed during its participation in the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) meetings.

This includes emphasising the importance of all efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, pursue a just and lasting peace, and enable the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights in establishing an internationally recognised independent state.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Cabinet session, Saudi Minister of Media Salman Youssef Al-Dossary indicated that the Cabinet addressed local affairs, including ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at present development and future readiness.

This encompasses enhancing infrastructure, improving service quality for citizens and residents, developing promising sectors, advancing telecommunications technologies, attracting investments, and stimulating national industries, the minister noted.

Moreover, the cabinet commended efforts towards enhancing the participation of Saudi youth in development paths, empowering the labour market to accommodate more national workers, and reducing the unemployment rate, which is close to the target set by the Saudi Vision 2030 at 7 per cent.

The cabinet also reviewed its agenda items, some co-studied by the Shura Council, and was briefed on the conclusions reached by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council for Political and Security Affairs, the Cabinet's General Committee and the Cabinet's Bureau of Experts.
