KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) -- The Royal Oman Police confirmed on Thursday that the three perpetrators involved in the fatal shooting near a mosque in Muscat on Monday evening were Omani nationals.
The police statement noted that the three were killed after resisting security personnel.
“Investigations and inquiries have indicated that they were influenced by misguided ideas,” it said in a statement.
The Royal Oman Police reiterated its thanks and gratitude to everyone for their vigilance, concern, and commitment to the safety and security of their country.
Six, including a policeman, were killed following the shooting near a mosque at the Al-Wadi Al-Kabir area on Monday evening.
A total of 28 individuals of various nationalities were injured including four from the Royal Oman Police and Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority.
