Iran Denounces Assassination Of Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- Iran has strongly condemned the assassination of Hezbollah’s secretary-general Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah in a terrorist attack carried out by Israel last Saturday, labelling it a “war crime” and a breach of Lebanon’s territorial integrity.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry, in a statement sent via its embassy here, also held the US directly responsible and complicit in the Zionist regime’s crime as “a supporter and accomplice in continuing to commit various international crimes and terrorist acts”.

The ministry, hailing Nasrallah as a "martyr" who died defending the liberation of Palestine and the Al-Quds said his death will not interrupt their struggle against the terrorist occupiers.

The Iranian government and people will continue their firm and all-out support for Palestine and Lebanon and the entire West Asia until the termination of the occupation and the restoration of the right to self-determination and the liberation of the Palestinians and the Al-Quds.

“And without a doubt, the Zionists' inhumane moves and escalation of brutality by assassinating the leaders of the resistance will step up the determination of the Iranian nation and government to support the oppressed people,” according to the statement. 

It added that the Zionist regime’s continuation in committing international crimes, including genocide, war crimes and aggression, will not go unpunished.

“Iran will implement all its political, diplomatic, legal and international capacities to support the heroic people of Palestine and Lebanon in regional and international assemblies, and will stand by Palestine and Lebanon to punish the aggressors,” it said.

Meanwhile, the Iranian embassy in Malaysia will hold a “doa” assembly for Nasrallah and other martyrs on Oct 3 from 5 pm to 7 pm at 105, Jalan Ampang Hilir, Desa Pahlawan, 55000 Kuala Lumpur.
