Singapore Police Probe 292 Scam Suspects

SINGAPORE, Oct 19 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Singaporean police are investigating 292 suspects for scam offences following an enforcement operation from Oct 4 to 17, according to the latest statement from the police, reported Xinhua.  

The suspects were involved in nearly 1,300 cases, including job scams, friend impersonation scams, internet love scams, investment scams, e-commerce scams, and fake buyer scams.

The police said victims lost over S$10.3 million Singapore dollars (US$7.9 million).

The suspects were under investigation for cheating, money laundering, or providing payment services without a licence.
