1.US INJECTS RM73 MILLION TO TACKLE TB IN CAMBODIA -- FRESH NEWS

The US announced a five-year programme to assist Cambodia's fight against tuberculosis (TB). Funds will be channelled via USAID's Community Mobilization Initiatives to End Tuberculosis 2 (COMMIT 2) project. Improving health in Cambodia is part of the US Indo-Pacific strategy. 

 

2.SIEM REAP HOSTS ”CAMBODIA-CHINA GASTRONOMY WEEK” -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

The "Cambodia-China Gastronomy Week” will be held in Siem Reap province from 26 to 27 October this year. The "Cambodia- China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024" and "Visit Siem Reap 2024" campaigns are to woo more Chinese tourists and investors.

 

LAOS 

 

1.LAOS-MYANMAR SIGN MIGRANT WORKERS AGREEMENT -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Both governments agreed to create a conducive work environment for Myanmar workers in Laos and tackle illegal workers in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. The agreement outlines registration, verification and recognition of workers to protect their legal rights and welfare. 

 

2.RUSSIA DONATES FOOD ITEMS TO LAOS SCHOOLS -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Russia donated 47 metric tonnes of cooking oil as part of its RM8.6 million support for the school meals project in Laos. Primary school children in 12 districts of Luang Namtha and Phongsaly provinces affected by recent floods will benefit from this project.
