  1. CAMBODIA FRAGRANT RICE WINS CHINA'S AWARD -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

Cambodia’s Sen Kra'op fragrant rice won the gold award for the second time at the China-ASEAN Taste Quality Appraisal Activity of High-Quality Indica Rice Varieties on Friday. Cambodian farmers have been planting the non-seasonal rice variety since the mid-1990s.

The Ministry of Health revealed that non-communicable diseases were responsible for nearly 60,000 deaths in Cambodia annually. Cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory conditions and diabetes are common contributors. Cambodia records over 19,700 new cancer cases annually and 50 per cent of the patients are women.
