KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan met with his Turkmenistan counterpart, Rashid Meredow, to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest.
According to a post by the Malaysian Foreign Ministry on its Facebook page on Wednesday, the discussion included a proposal to establish a Joint Commission Meeting between Malaysia and Turkmenistan.
The Ministry noted that both sides also explored economic cooperation opportunities beyond the oil and gas sector.
The meeting further focused on preparations for the official visit of Turkmenistan's President, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, to Malaysia from Dec 18 to 19, marking his first official visit since assuming office in March 2022.
