HAMILTON/ WASHINGTON, Feb 18 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- At least 18 people were injured when a Delta Airlines plane crash-landed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday.
"A total of 18 injured passengers were transported to hospitals," Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported the airport said on X, adding the airport remains open.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and being led by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, it added.
Earlier, Toronto Pearson CEO Deborah Flint told reporters that the plane, which took off from the US city of Minneapolis, was carrying four crew and 76 passengers, including 22 Canadians.
"We are very grateful that there was no loss of life and relatively minor injuries," she said.
Canada's Transportation Minister Anita Anand said in a post on X that all 80 passengers onboard are accounted for.
"I’m closely following the serious incident at the Pearson Airport involving Delta Airlines flight 4819 from Minneapolis," she added.
Anadolu also Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on X that there are “no casualties,” adding that "provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help that’s needed."
