PARIS, March 3 (Bernama-QNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris and London are proposing a one-month truce in Ukraine, covering air, sea and energy infrastructure attacks, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
In statements following a special summit on Ukraine in London, Macron added that the deployment of any European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine would take place in later stages and would not happen in the coming weeks.
He also suggested that European countries should increase their defence spending to between 3 per cent and 3.5 per cent of their total GDP, in response to shifting United States (US) policies under US President Donald Trump.
Macron's statements come after a crucial summit in London, attended by dozens of European officials, to discuss support for Ukraine and review European defence issues.
