ISTANBUL, March 4 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday stressed the need for a clear political framework to rebuild the Gaza Strip, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.
His remarks came during his speech at an emergency Arab Summit that opened in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
There is a need for a clear political framework for Gaza's recovery, reconstruction and stability based on international legal principles, said the UN chief.
Arab leaders convened in Cairo on Tuesday for an emergency summit to address Gaza's reconstruction and mobilise support for Egypt’s rebuilding plan.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi unveiled a reconstruction plan for Gaza at the summit, emphasising that rebuilding must take place without the displacement of Palestinians.
He urged international and regional support for the initiative, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to justice for the Palestinian people.
