MOSCOW, June 23 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran will not spare the United States, no one is immune from the oil shock, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev said, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

Iranian authorities have on multiple occasions stated that they reserve the right to closing the Strait of Hormuz in response to attacks by Israel. The Iranian parliament agreed on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz should be closed, Esmail Kowsari, a member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said.

"Oil is priced globally. If the Strait of Hormuz is shut, the US won’t be spared. No one is immune from a global oil shock - prices at the pump will [skyrocket]," Dmitriev said on X.

According to trading data, as of 23.48 Sunday, Brent oil futures are trading up 2.45 per cent at US$77.33 per barrel amid the escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel.
