ISTANBUL, July 23 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- At least 85 people were killed and many others injured in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip since early Tuesday, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported medical sources said.
The Israeli army killed 15 Palestinians in an attack on a house in the northwest of Gaza City.
In northern Gaza, five Palestinians were killed and others injured in a strike targeting the Al-Nasr neighbourhood west of Gaza City.
Another 12 Palestinians were killed while waiting for aid trucks near the Zikim area north of Beit Lahia, which is under Israeli control.
In the al-Tuffah neighbourhood east of Gaza City, one Palestinian was killed in a drone strike.
Seven people were killed, including three children, in an Israeli strike that targeted a group of civilians near Ali Mosque in the Zeitoun neighbourhood southeast of Gaza City.
Israeli warplanes struck tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, killing 16 Palestinians and injuring more than 25 others, medics said.
According to the official Palestinian news agency (WAFA), the victims -- including women and children -- were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in the same city following the predawn airstrike.
A young Palestinian was also killed when the Israeli army targeted aid seekers in western Gaza City, the medical sources added.
Israeli fighter jets targeted the vicinity of a school-turned-shelter in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City, killing four people.
Two young Palestinians were also killed in Israeli strikes in the Ber al-Naaja area in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army opened fire on civilians waiting for aid delivery at a US-backed aid distribution point near the Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, leaving seven people dead.
The army also struck the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing two siblings.
In the central city of Deir al-Balah, intensified Israeli strikes took the lives of eight Palestinians amid ongoing ground offensives in the southern areas of the city.
In southern Gaza, three people were killed by Israeli strikes in Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, two Palestinians waiting for US aid were killed near a distribution centre west of Rafah City.
Israel has killed more than 59,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, collapsed the health system and led to severe food shortages.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
