INDONESIA

1. DANANTARA STEPS IN AS WHOOSH TRAIN SAVES TIME BUT BLEEDS CASH

Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, has pledged to help resolve mounting problems at the country’s first high-speed rail line, the Jakarta-Bandung service known as Whoosh, which has become an emblem of both ambition and excess.

The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge 1 that was temporarily closed is now open to the public. Myanmar authorities closed the route to stop illegal trade. Now, all importers need to have a licence to import Thai goods into the country.

 

2. EARLY VOTING FOR OVERSEAS MYANMAR NATIONALS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia will distribute Form 15 for early voters to register. The government will hold the general elections on December 28. Myanmar embassies in South Korea, Thailand and the United States have also started issuing the registration forms.
