ISTANBUL (AA), Sept 1 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan late Sunday, injuring at least 23 people, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) quoted health officials.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the quake at 11.47 pm local time (1917GMT), 27 kilometres east-northeast of Jalalabad at a depth of eight kilometres.
The Nangarhar Public Health Directorate said the injured were taken to a regional hospital.
A second quake, measuring 4.5 magnitude, struck the same area 21 minutes later at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to USGS.
