Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele Wins Ballon d'Or

PARIS, Sept 23 (Bernama-QNA) -- Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele was awarded the Ballon d'Or for the world's best male player at a ceremony hosted by France Football magazine in Paris on Monday night, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The French international beat out Barcelona's teenage star Lamine Yamal, who earlier in the evening won the Kopa Trophy for the world's best young player for the second consecutive year.

The top 10 rankings for the award were also revealed.

PSG's Portuguese midfielder Vitinha finished third, followed by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in fourth. Barcelona's Raphinha placed fifth, while PSG's Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi was sixth. Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe was seventh, followed by Chelsea's Cole Palmer in eighth.

The top ten was rounded out by Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in ninth and PSG left-back Nuno Mendes in tenth.

In other awards, Paris Saint-Germain was named the best club, with the club's president, Nasser bin Ghanem Al Khelaifi, accepting the award.

The prize for best coach went to PSG's Luis Enrique.

Arsenal's Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres received the Gerd Muller Trophy for best goal scorer, while Gianluigi Donnarumma won the award for best goalkeeper.

In the women's category, Barcelona and Spain player Aitana Bonmati won the Ballon d'Or for best female player for the third consecutive time. She was followed by her compatriot, Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey, in second place, with her Arsenal teammate Alessia Russo finishing third.

Barcelona's Vicky Lopez was named the best young female player, and Sarina Wiegman, coach of the England women's national team, won the award for best coach.
