LOS ANGELES, Dec 29 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Disney and 20th Century's epic science fiction film Avatar: Fire and Ash took the top spot at the North American box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated three-day cumulative of US$64 million, Xinhua reported Sunday, citing figures from the measurement firm Comscore.
The third installment in James Cameron's Avatar franchise has grossed US$217.7 million in North America, pushing its global cume to an estimated US$760.4 million through Sunday.
Disney's animated comedy film Zootopia 2 climbed back to second place on the box office chart in its fifth weekend. The film earned US$20 million over the Christmas weekend, bringing its North American total to US$321.4 million.
Rounding out the top three, A24's new sports film Marty Supreme pulled in US$17.5 million this weekend.
