LUSAKA (Zambia), March 10 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Madagascar's President Michael Randrianirina on Monday dismissed Prime Minister Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo and the entire government, with no reason provided by the presidency, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
"The President will shortly proceed with the appointment of a new prime minister, following procedures set out by the constitution," Harry Laurent Rahajason, communications director of the presidency, said in a statement issued in Antananarivo, the capital.
Randrianirina assumed control of the Indian Ocean island nation following protests that forced out his predecessor, Andry Rajoelina, who subsequently fled the country last October.
At the end of February, Randrianirina indicated that elections under the Re-foundation of the Republic of Madagascar would be held in 2027.
