TEHRAN, April 3 (Bernama-MNA) -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that his country will firmly defend itself against aggressorvs with all its might, emphasising that Iran was attacked in the middle of negotiations, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
Pezeshkian made the remarks in a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev late on Thursday and briefed him on the latest developments concerning the US and Israeli military aggression against the country, including attacks on schools, hospitals and vital industrial infrastructure.
Pezeshkian stressed that his country will use all its capacities to defend itself firmly against aggressors.
The president expressed his appreciation to the people and government of Azerbaijan for expressing their sympathy with the government and people of Iran.
Aliyev, for his part, pointed to the negative consequences of war on the stability and security of the region, expressing hope that peace and stability will be restored in the region as soon as possible.
The two presidents also exchanged views on advancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
