GENEVA, April 7 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Diesel prices in Belgium are likely to reach a new record high of €2.489 (US$2.88) per litre on Wednesday, Anadolu Ajansi reported, citing a local daily.
According to the daily Le Soir, the increase marks a sharp rise of more than 16 cents in a single adjustment, pushing diesel prices close to the €2.50 threshold, the daily reported, citing the economy ministry.
Gasoline prices will also rise, though more moderately. The price of 95-octane fuel (E10) will increase by 4.4 cents to €1.945 per litre.
Prices at this level were last seen in mid-November 2022, according to the report.
Meanwhile, 98-octane gasoline (E5) will exceed the €2 mark, rising by 4.3 cents to reach €2.027 per litre.
The price adjustments were announced by the ministry, reflecting ongoing volatility in fuel markets amid the ongoing war in West Asia.
