NEW YORK, April 8 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar weakened in late trading on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.12 per cent to 99.857 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro advanced to US$1.1574 from US$.1549 in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to US$1.3251 from US$1.3241 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 159.73 Japanese yen, higher than 159.63 Japanese yen in the previous session. The US dollar was up to 0.7988 Swiss francs from 0.7977 Swiss francs, and it slipped to 1.3899 Canadian dollars from 1.3914 Canadian dollars. The US dollar rose to 9.5065 Swedish kronor from 9.4355 Swedish kronor.
